The main task of the student's work is the implementation of variational principle of conformal mappings to the case of plane hydrodynamics: a flow around the bodies, the form of a body is little different from a circle. On the basis of this method, the student received the formulae for the complex potential of the flow, the pressure on the contour. For a number of specific contours, the flow field (the constancy of flow lines), the pressure on the contour plots, the main vector of calculated forces and the main vector of the moment about the center are given. A comparison with the flow around a circular loop (known classical result) and with the results obtained by the method of small parameter are considered. The expressions are the same. Student exercised reasonable autonomy, in particular, found the modern English-language scientific literature in which the proposed method is discussed. He also figured out the peculiarities of the application of modern computer systems Maple and Mathematica in the calculation of deductions. I believe that this work by G.V. Bunin "The application of variational principle for conformal mappings in the problems of potential flow" is successful and deserves an excellent rating.
