Scientific Review of the Master Thesis Student: Zhao Yueqi Title: “Sociological Analysis of Everyday Life Practices of Asylum-Seekers and Refugees from Northern Africa in Italy” The work of Zhao Yueqi is an original and independent study. The author focuses on the analysis of everyday life practices of asylum-seekers and refugees from Northern Africa in Italy. The novelty of the work is due to the lack of works devoted to the topic of Asylum-Seekers and Refugees. The objectives of the study are correct and respond to the research's purpose. The author has taken a fundamental approach to the selection of scientific literature on the stated issues. A good work on the studied issue was demonstrated, expressed in the presentation of an extensive body of theoretical generalizations, allowing the author to disclose the main aspects of the stated topic with the necessary validity and consistency. The methodology used in the paper is consistent with the aims and objectives of the paper. In order to gain a multidimensional and complex understanding of the subject in question, the author applied a quantitative research approach, utilizing a structured questionnaire (survey) to gather standardized data from a sample of North African refugees and asylum-seekers residing in Italy. The work was written individually and contains a set of new findings and proposes a defense, has internal cohesion and complies with all the necessary requirements. The research topic is relevant, the title corresponds with the content of the research, the research is clearly focused, the work demonstrates a certain logical sequence of material presentation, which is mainly based on sufficient theoretical knowledge of the chosen topic and arguments. The material is presented mostly correctly, taking into account accepted scientific terminology, the obtained results are mostly reliable and the conclusions are mostly justified. There are some remarks about the layout of the text and insufficient clarity of the conclusions. The MA thesis of Zhao Yueqi demonstrates originality in research, as indicated by a final originality score of 90,3 % obtained through the Safe Assign Black Board program.
