REVIEW for the final qualifying work of a student of St. Petersburg State University Deribina Ekaterina Igorevna on the topic "Epitaxial growth and optical properties of low-dimensional structures based on A3B5 compounds" The work of Deribina E.I. "Epitaxial growth and optical properties of low-dimensional structures based on A3B5 compounds" was carried out at the Department of Photonics, Faculty of Physics, St. Petersburg State University. The work is devoted to the study of low-dimensional heteroepitaxial structures - quantum dots based on gallium arsenide. In this paper, the method of their growth is studied in detail and a structural characterization is carried out. The optical spectra of samples with quantum dots are measured, as well as theoretical simulation of the response. The work contains both an extensive experimental part, a detailed literature review, an introduction and a conclusion. The content of the work corresponds to the stated topic, the topic is fully disclosed. The structure of the work is substantiated by the tasks formulated in the work. The obtained experimental results are original. The results were presented at conferences. The positive aspects of work include the wealth of experimental methods used, the full cycle of research from growth to measurement of optical properties. The work deserves an "excellent" rating.
