“CONTRACTUAL SANCTIONS CLAUSE” 

The Final qualification work of Makoeva Danita Bekirovna is devoted to the highly debated issue of economic sanctions in the context of international business relations. The author first explores the legal nature of current economic sanctions from the perspective of public international law and then turns to the analysis of possible consequences of sanctions. The author then analysis different aspect of a contractual sanctions clause and develops her own suggestions and recommendations on how to draft an appropriate contractual sanctions clause. The latter is a clear strength and merit of the work. 

The manuscript shows the ability of the author to conduct independent legal research. The author used numerous academic publications by Russian and foreign authors. She has based her research also on treaties, UN documents, and national legislation and court practice in numerous jurisdictions.  

The author was very interested in the research, she was open to discussion and ready to work on further improvements and developments of the text. The author’s conclusions are original and well-grounded. The manuscript is well organized and consistent with legal style. Grammar is correct and there are no typos. Scientific terminology is adequately defined and used.

The Final qualification work of Makoeva Danita Bekirovna meets all necessary requirements for such papers, can be admitted to the public defence and deserves a highly positive grade.
