Research adviser’s review on a bachelor thesis Levitskaia Polina Andreevna "Dramatical pieces of the atomic bomb literature" The genre of dramatic works of Japanese atomic bomb literature was chosen as the theme of the graduation qualification work of Levitskaia P.A. This work was a logical continuation of the study of the genbaku bungaku genre and the work of Tanaka Chikao, which student P. A. Levitska started to research from her second year of study at St. Petersburg University. In her work, Levitskaia P.A. examines in detail the history of the emergence and artistic features of the dramatic works of the genbaku bungaku genre, explores gender issues in Japanese literature in general, and separately in the genre of genbaku bungaku, using the example of Tanaka Chikao’s play “The Head of Mary: Fantasy of Nagasaki”. For this, a translation of the selected passage of the text from the specified work from Japanese was performed. Levitskaia P. A. selected and used literature from various fields of science: psychology, cultural studies, history, linguistics, literary criticism in Russian and English. When writing this study, Levitskaia P.A. showed high interest and independence in the development of the chosen topic. She proved herself to be a thoughtful, erudite researcher, able to independently and at a high level carry out scientific work. The final qualification work of Levitskaia P.A. may be of interest to specialists in the field of Japanese literature. The thesis of Levitskaia P.A. can be recommended for defense. I will not mind if the reviewer and the commission consider it possible to rate “excellent”.
