Feedback from scientific supervisor of graduate qualification work “Characteristics of caregiver – child interactions in children transferred from a typical child institution to substitute families” performed by a postgraduate student of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Saint-Petersburg State University” Shabalina Ekaterina Vladimirovna, studying discipline 5.3.6. – “Clinical Psychology” Shabalina Ekaterina Vladimirovna studies the discipline 5.3.6. – “Clinical Psychology” in the Department of Child and Parent Mental Health and Early Intervention of the Faculty of Psychology of St. Petersburg State University. During the study period, she was a member of research team and actively participated in the research project “Caregiver-child interaction and theory of mind in children with early institutional experience living in substitute families”, funded by Russian Science Foundation (project number 22-28-00626, https://rscf.ru/en/project/22-28-00626/), as well as in analysis of the data obtained during the Russian-American longitudinal study “The effects of Early Social-Emotional and Relationship Experience on the Development of Young Orphanage Children“. The obtained data on the interaction of children with institutionalization experience and caregivers in substitute families were presented at various scientific conferences with following publication of theses in the scientific collections (“Ananiev Readings” (2018-2021, Saint Petersburg), 16th European Congress of Psychology (2019, Moskow), International Scientific Conference “Personality and the challenges of modernity: interpretation of problems by various scientific schools” (2020, Maykop), “Psychology of the XXI century” (2022, Saint Petersburg)). English Summary. doi:10.17223/17267080/84/9 Ekaterina Vladimirovna revealed deep interest in the scientific work in the field of infant and young child mental health and development and her professional competence acquired during the years of training and participation in the research projects was fully expressed in the choice of the subject of the graduate qualification work and in the high quality of its implementation. Ekaterina showed such important and necessary qualities for the conduct of research work as the ability to independently access the literature database, identify the necessary articles, analyze, summarize and use the data presented in them when defining a scientific problem; work with a database of large arrays of empirical material, create own database of empirical data with subsequent analysis, including independent use of the methods of multiple variance and regression analysis; description of the results of the analysis using the necessary visual forms of data presentation; discussion of the work results comparing with literature review data. The high level of Ekaterina's professional competence acquired and fully manifested during the accomplishment of the qualification work is reinforced by such necessary and respectful qualities as scientific curiosity, interest in searching for regularities, good organization and high demands on the quality of her work. According to the high level of professional competence reflected in the work, the quality of performance and the demonstrated personal qualities, Shabalina Ekaterina Vladimirovna deserves an "excellent" grade for her graduate qualification work.
