Final qualification work of Yandovskiy P. A. is devoted to the topical issue – optimization of production and distribution of electrical energy in networks with a multitude of producers and consumers, problems of practical implementation of the concept. The work has a logical structure, justified by the research tasks. A detailed review of the literature with a large number of English-language sources, including modern ones, attests to the author’s qualitative theoretical preparations and acquaintance with current publications on the topic under study. The first chapter is of a theoretical nature, it describes the features of the construction of electrical load graphs, the history of evolution and the current state of the electricity market in Russia. The second chapter is devoted directly to the mathematical modeling of power supply networks; the calculations for different modes of optimization of production and distribution of electricity are presented. The third chapter is applied; it sequentially examines the problems of practical implementation of mathematical models, the automation of smart grid operation, and the prospects for implementation. The undoubted merit of the work is the symbiosis of applied mathematics and technical understanding of the principle of the operation of power supply systems. Also author gives original and actual conclusions, directions for generalization and further research in the subject matter under consideration. Checking the work on plagiarism indicates that the research was carried out by Yandovskiy P. A. independently. It meets the requirements of the SPbSU educational standards, the content – to the stated subject, the work is written in an accessible style with the necessary explanatory drawings, formulas and comments. I think that the final qualifying work of Yandovskiy P. A. deserves an assessment “excellent”.
