REVIEW of supervisor for final qualification work of Ionina O. A. DEVELOPING FRACTAL TEXTURE GENERATORS TO CREATE CONTENT IN THE PROCESSING ENVIRONMENT submitted for the degree of Master of Arts and Humanities in the direction 035300 "Arts and Humanities" Theme of final qualification work The work is devoted to the implementation and application of mathematical algorithms for fractal textures generators to create graphical content in the Processing environment. Namely, textures were implemented using the L-system and algorithms based on diffusion limited aggregation (DLA). The work consisted in study the theory of fractal structures generation and software implementation in a specific visual environment Processing . The actuality of the work This work is an example of the implementation of the so-called generative graphics. Generative graphics are computer graphics, obtained with the help of code, widely used in various applied fields, such as architecture, web design, industrial design, graphic design and data visualization, video production, and also in the arts. The original graphics are in constant demand, and the use of mathematical algorithms allows to obtain a variety of unique patterns. In addition to content creation, this media is also represent interest as a popularization of science. In the process of creating content in the Processing environment, the user needs deep knowledge of both the specifics of object-oriented programming and the syntax of Java and JavaScript, and understanding of mathematical algorithms, but the output produces impressive visual content that promotes deeper understanding of the material and having aesthetic value. The novelty of the work and the importance for science and practice of the results obtained by the author of the work The idea of developing evolution patterns with the help of L-system and DLA algorithms is not new, but in order to find those algorithms that produce textures with aesthetic value, it takes a lot of effort and much work. During the work, Ionina O.A. implemented a large number of different L-systems, and also tested various sets of parameters of the DLA algorithm. As a result, we got a unique ready-made texture collection in the Processing environment, represented in the form of code, which, later, can be used to create various visual products by Olga herself and by everyone. In addition, this work has value both for the popularization of science and for educational purposes, especially for students in the humanities departments. Such works allow us to "revitalize" the code and mathematical algorithms, which is certainly important for motivation in the study of mathematics and algorithms and the development of interest in digital technologies, which is especially important in the context of modern life. Overall assessment of the final qualification work Graduation qualifying work of Ionina O.A. is carried out on an actual topic at a good level. Results (textures) are obtained for the first time and have practical value. Separately, it should be noted that Olga did this technical work, requiring understanding of mathematics, algorithms and programming, having a basic humanitarian education, wrote it in an understandable and accessible language, making mathematical algorithms for generating fractals available to a wide range of people interested in the generative graphics. Final qualification work "DEVELOPING FRACTAL TEXTURE GENERATORS TO CREATE CONTENT IN THE PROCESSING ENVIRONMENT" satisfies all the requirements for master's theses, and its author, undoubtedly, deserves the award of the required degree of Master of Arts and Humanities. Ionina O.A. is allowed to presentation.
