Topic choice was fully justified as based on the scientific interest and based on the popularity of the crowdfunding platforms. Master thesis is clearly structured. Author has clearly stated aim of the research, reviewed previous researches on that topic, gave description of the topic, collected relevant data and made thorough and appropriate analysis to get answer on the stated questions. The first part of the work gives thorough description of the crowdfunding with the description of current situation in Russia and review of scientific literature. The second part of the work is dedicated on in-deep empirical analysis of collected projects data. Selected methods are relevant and adequate as explained variable is binary. Author has used usual logistic regression and more sophisticated machine learning algorithms (Extreme Gradient Boosting Trees). Important to mention that author has made significant work not only by making thorough analysis of data, but also by collecting data. However, process of the data collection and data limitations could be described in more details. Results of the research have practical value as the research is one of the first one for Russian crowdfunding projects and author identified not only crucial for success factors but also built a model that could be used to determine probability of project success. Master thesis of Anna A. Petrova meets the requirements of the Master in Corporate Finance program, and according to the reviewer’s opinion deserves a/an “excellent (A)” grade, thus the author can be given the desired degree.
