Feedback on the graduation qualification paper of master student of linguistics Zykov Denis Sergeyevich on the topic “Russian terminology of the gas industry (in comparison with English): functional and semantic aspects”  The graduation qualification paper of master student Zykov Denis Sergeyevich is devoted to the description of the functional-semantic aspect of the terminology of the gas industry. The purpose of this research is to identify the functional and semantic features of the terms of the gas industry in the Russian language in comparison with English, and also to set recommendations on composing a bilingual terminological dictionary of gas industry terms for foreign students. The relevance of the study is that in the practice of teaching RFL and the language for special purposes in particular, there is a need for the unification of the Russian-English terms of the terminological vocabulary of the gas industry. The subject of the study is the terms of the gas industry, their system relationships, composition, semantics and compatibility. According to the plagiarism analysis protocol, the percentage of text matches is 13%, which consist of commonly used constructions of scientific style of speech, correctly formed quotations and clichés. The analysis confirmed the hypothesis put forth by the author that different functional and semantic features of terms of the gas industry manifest themselves in different spheres of use in different genres of scientific and scientific-pedagogical literature, on which the actualization of the differential characteristics of its definition depends, which must be taken into account in the process of teaching language for special purposes and creating a terminological dictionary. As a result of the conducted research, ways of expressing the categorical seme of terms related to different semantic groups were revealed; it is noted that parallel processes occur in the English language. The features of derivational relations of gas industry terms were also revealed. The practical significance of the work is that the results of the research can be used in the practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language while teaching the Language for special purposes. The preparation of the graduation qualification essay required Zykov Denis Sergeyevich to comprehend and interpret scientific literature on the subject in order to develop a theoretical basis for the study. The research part of the thesis and the conclusions drawn by the applicant are convincing, scientifically grounded and logical. The completed qualification paper meets all the requirements for the work of this level, and deserves a positive grade.
